BLACKWELL, Paul - WWI Vet

Paul Blackwell, 71, died last night in his home, 809 N. Colorado. Born at Greencastle, Mr. Blackwell had lived in Indianapolis most of his life. For 25 years before his retirement in 1956, he was a grave-digger for Crown Hill cemetery.  He was a veteran of WWI and member of Greencastle Christian Church. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Little & Sons Funeral Home, Beech Grove with burial in Crown Hill.  Survivors are the widow, Lillian Blackwell; a daughter, Betty Van Meter, Union Mills; two sons, M Sgt Robert Blackwell, Arlington, VA and Jack Blackwell, Indianapolis a brother, Willis Blackwell, Indianapolis and 12 grandchildren. – kbz
